Funny you should ask: JKIA cleaner, 52 phones and 3 drones

Cartoon in SNECK style: in a dark wood-paneled airport hallway, a big sign reads HAS ANYONE ASKED YOU TO CARRY SOMETHING? A grinning googly-eyed raccoon cleaner in a teal coverall, holding a mop, points back at a restroom door while wearing a bulging black backpack with drone propellers and smartphones poking out and a luggage tag reading KCY 001J. Beside it, a yellow mop bucket has a sticker and a tiny pink cocktail umbrella. A grey owl customs officer in a navy cap and yellow sash stares at the backpack, clipboard in hand. A small wall poster reads exeindex.com. Caption: FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK.

Satire / Cartoon. Kenya's KRA says customs officers clearing arriving passengers at JKIA spotted an airport cleaner leaving the terminal with two black backpacks. She tried to flee and was stopped. She said a female passenger handed her the bags and asked her to take them through Customs. A CT baggage scanner showed drones and phones. The passenger, a frequent traveller off an international flight, confirmed handing them over while using the restrooms. Inside were 52 refurbished phones and 3 drones (two DJI Mini 3 Pro and a third DJI drone that KRA's media brief of Sat Oct 17, 2026, as reported by The Star, Citizen Digital, Tuko and The Standard, calls "DJI Air 25"; TV47 writes "Air 2S"), plus controllers, batteries and accessories. The goods were moved to the customs warehouse pending further action. KRA reminded travellers that drone imports need KCAA authorisation. No one was hurt; no charges were reported. Customs' favorite question finally got a yes.
