U.S. Navy image released by U.S. Central Command after the June 13, 2019 attack on the Japanese-owned tanker Kokuka Courageous in the Gulf of Oman, shown in the version Voice of America published with its own labels marking the blast damage and the alleged mine. CENTCOM said the tanker suffered an explosion and its 21 crew abandoned ship after finding a probable unexploded limpet mine on the hull; they were taken aboard USS Bainbridge, where one was treated for burns to his hands, and an IRGC Gashti-class patrol boat was later recorded removing the mine. Iran denied involvement. Archive item tied to the Oct. 18, 2026 projectile attack on a tug off Khor Fakkan, UAE, in the Gulf of Oman.
