Australian Army HIMARS deploy overseas for the first time, to Exercise Keris Woomera in Indonesia

Photos posted Oct. 20, 2026 by Defence Australia. Defence says the Australian Army deployed two HIMARS launchers from the Royal Australian Artillery's 14th Regiment on their first international assignment, a live-fire activity for Exercise Keris Woomera in Indonesia, flying them from Darwin to Banyuwangi in East Java and on to Manado in North Sulawesi aboard a RAAF C-130J Hercules. It says the exercise involves about 1,000 ADF personnel and 1,235 members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces. The photos show the launchers on an airfield apron beside a C-130J, Australian and Indonesian troops standing guard, and a launcher seen from inside the aircraft's cargo bay.
