Strike
Video released Oct. 19, 2026 by the Nigerian Air Force with a press release from its spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame. The air force says a precision strike under Operation Hadin Kai hit an identified ISWAP hideout in the Lake Chad region that day, and that preliminary post-strike assessments indicate several fighters were killed, including two it describes as a chief security guard to an ISWAP leader and a member of the group's Shura Council, and that boat engines and motorcycles were destroyed. The 31-second overhead thermal video shows crosshairs over structures and vegetation followed by strike plumes. The results are the air force's claim and have not been independently verified.
