Photo taken Nov. 13, 2024 and released by the UK Ministry of Defence. The MOD says it shows two RAF Typhoon FGR4 aircraft on a routine Operation Shader mission over the Middle East during an air-to-air refuelling sortie, flown from RAF Akrotiri as part of the coalition effort against Daesh in Iraq and Syria and, more recently, against Houthi forces in Yemen that threaten shipping. On Oct. 20, 2026 the MOD announced that RAF Typhoons will fly defensive counter-air missions to help protect Saudi cities and infrastructure from Houthi attacks.
