ARCHIVE: U.S. Army fires three HIMARS to open Talisman Sabre 23 at Shoalwater Bay

ARCHIVE photo, taken July 22, 2023, released by the U.S. Army via DVIDS. The Army says soldiers of the 17th Field Artillery Brigade fired three M142 HIMARS during a combined joint live-fire demonstration at Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland that launched Exercise Talisman Sabre 23, the largest bilateral exercise between Australia and the United States. The photo shows rockets climbing on white smoke trails from launchers in a grassy field below a rocky ridge. It ties to the Australian Army's first overseas HIMARS deployment this week.
