U.S. Army photo released via DVIDS on Oct. 15, 2026 showing Scott Fontaine, civil-military affairs coordinator with the U.S. State Department's Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), walking to a UH-60 Black Hawk to begin a personnel retrieval mission at Aeropuerto Internacional de Panamá Pacífico, Panama, on Oct. 14. The Army says the mission was flown by the U.S. Army Air Ambulance Detachment, 1-228th Aviation Regiment, Joint Task Force-Bravo, and that the Department of War is supporting the State Department-led U.S. disaster assistance to Panama after the Oct. 9, 2026 earthquake. Other photos in the same DVIDS set show the team leader of Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue (Virginia Task Force 1) at Santiago de Veraguas. The Oct 9 earthquake killed one person and injured 27, per Panama's civil protection agency.
