As stated by NATO (Forward Land Forces, page updated 29 September 2026), Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, and NATO says it supports Ukraine's defence against what NATO calls a war of aggression. A Russian defence-ministry statement and a Ukrainian defence-ministry page were not available when this row was written. The dot is the country centre.
